What is the IG

The Innovation Generator – sparking inspiration!

A research project is a great source for good-practice examples and learnings, for meeting inspiring people and for listening to successful stories. The Innovation Generator offers some of this knowledge gathered over the course of the StarTree project, mainly from the angle of innovation.

Of course, there is no single recipe for innovation. It rather combines two quite different elements that are both necessary for an innovation to come into being: first, a novelty as a trigger; and second, the implementation in real life.

Thus the Innovation Generator includes both elements: Inspiring ones that spark ideas as well as a collection of possibly useful tools and “lessons learnt”. Some elements – such as the Innovation Case Database – serve both purposes. The IG is an open collection of inspiring facts and descriptions of innovative examples from the field of wild forest products. It intends to generate new questions and, by triggering new answers, make new innovations possible.

The content in the Innovation Generator was compiled from various insights, materials and outputs from the StarTree project and with contributions from numerous StarTree partners - from research, development and practice. More information on the project’s results can be found in the Outputs-Section of StarTree.
