welsh show 20130723 250As part of the stakeholder engagement process being carried out for the Startree project in the West Wales and the Valleys region, Llais y Goedwig hosted a launch event at the Royal Welsh Show on July 23rd.

The Royal Welsh show is the biggest agricultural show in Europe and is visited by nearly a quarter of a million people from Wales and beyond over four days. The show has a dedicated forestry section so was the ideal place to engage with people from the forestry sector as well as raise the profile of Startree with the general public, and gather information on the range of Non-wood forest products available in Wales.

The launch event helped to consolidate existing contacts and identify new ones, and will become a regular date in the Startree diary in Wales. It will help us to disseminate information and launch reports as they become available, promoting Startree to a broad cross section of people.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Programme for research, technological development and demonst ration under grant agreement No. 311919
