Knowledge gained on non-wood forest products through the StarTree project represents the basis of this Wiki, with a special emphasis on the work carried out on Institutional dimensions of NWFP.
The majority of pages are related to different policies regulating NWFPs, with contributions from the project's 14 case-studies. The real value of the Wiki is reflected in its audience, and everyone is invited to contribute to its development by adding content and expanding its list of pages.

The need for enhanced forest decision support systems (DSSs) is evident in several EU documents related to the future role of European forests.
Forest DSSs allow the forest manager to use advanced decision support tools, such as expert and knowledge based systems, multi-criteria techniques as well as communication and visualisation tools. Note: this Community of Practice predates StarTree; StarTree data was added to this repository via the StarTree Database initiative.

Models and simulators representing forest growth and yield, or the dynamics of tree populations are stored here.
Growth and yield models include quantitative wood production, as well as qualitative features related to timber, and wood properties related to growth processes. Forest dynamics models consider the structure and dynamics of tree populations.
