The Startree Regional Stakeholder Group for West Wales and The Valleys convened at the National Botanic Gardens in South West Wales on 23rd January 2015 to learn of the progress over the first two years of Startree and provide direction for future work in the sector in Wales. The meeting was attended by representatives from Welsh Government, public and private woodland management organisations, research institutions and SME’s.

The meeting was split into two sessions, with the morning spent showing presentations on the StarTree project and its achievements so far, and the afternoon on group discussions on; a Wales specific State of the Sector report, what Startree can do for small NWFP businesses in Wales, and safeguarding personal use.

The input from stakeholders at the RSG will be invaluable in orientating StarTree outputs and dissemination to achieve the maximum benefit for the nascent NWFP sector in Wales and providing an ongoing platform for discussion on how best to integrate NWFP's into mainstream woodland management in Wales.
