Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia is the government institution, which conducts activities in conservation and development of natural heritage of Serbia.

In order to conserve and develop nature of Serbia, the Institute implements following activities:

  • Starting conservation procedure    
  • Research work and studying biodiversity and geodiversity
  • Professional supervision (monitoring the condition of protected natural resource and taking measures to its active and passive protection)
  • International cooperation
  • Publishing activity
  • Education, presentation and communication
  • Database development
  • Participation in making spatial plans
  • Giving opinions on issuing permits for collecting protected species for commercial purposes
